Actions speak louder than words and I have been taking classes with Catrine at Cat's Corner for over two years and try to arrange my schedule to miss as few classes as possible. I like the setting -- a Mission street jazz club with old posters and movie clips of swing dancing on the TV's and good bands and dancing after the classes -- but most important for me has been the instruction that I have received. Lindy Hop Background

Catrine has a storied dance career that includes being a founding performer of the world renowned dance troupe The Rhythm Hot Shots, studying with swing dance legends Frankie Manning and Al Minns, and playing an instrumental role in the current popular revival of swing dancing.

Catrine is also the graceful and quirky party hostess at Cat’s Corner – the Wednesday Night Swing Dance Party at Savanna Jazz Club in SF.

Private Swing Lessons and Parties!

Catrine is available to teach private swing lessons for individuals, couples and small groups. Read more about how you can make your party a fun event by having Cat come and teach at your party or wedding at the Event Page. Scheduling is flexible and rates are reasonable.

Cat and Elliott

Cat and Elliott Catrine and Elliott have taught at camps and workshops in many places around the globe, Oakland Swing Dance Festival, Swingin’Spring in Sweden, The Frankie XC cruise, and the Herrang Dance Camp (where they have appeared together for the past three years). Elliott met Catrine in 1998, Catrine met Elliott in 2001 (or at least that is the first time he appeared on her radar screen). Together they have become known for their enthusiasm and energetic style of dance that is directly inspired by the type of dancing seen in early clips of the Harvest Moon Ball.

We are available for workshops, domestic and international!
