Reviews & Testimonials

Catrine is an amazing dancer and instructor. I've watched her for years. Catrine can take any level of dancer and help them go to the next level. She can dissect a movement and walk through it explaining the position of feet, legs, and arms such that we can understand where we need to be at the appropriate beat in a dance routine. Catrine helped me hear the beat! Dawn Stiles (student)

With her vast swing dance knowledge and experience, I can always count on Catrine to teach a great class. I really admire her dance style and the natural, effortless way she moves--always authentic and true to the original classic style of Lindy Hop. Add to this her fun and zany attitude and you get a wonderful experience which is not only informative and educational, but fun and entertaining as well. Ken Watanabe (Organizer & Teacher)

Actions speak louder than words and I have been taking classes with Catrine at Cat's Corner for over two years and try to arrange my schedule to miss as few classes as possible. I like the setting -- a Mission street jazz club with old posters and movie clips of swing dancing on the TV's and good bands and dancing after the classes -- but most important for me has been the instruction that I have received. The classes are small. You get individual tips and help but you not only learn "the moves" you learn to make them look good... Peter Radcliff (Philosophy Professor and Lindy Hopper)

Charleston Dancers

Cat’s Corner’s NEW Performance Classes

Lindy Hop Performance Class every Sunday, with start March 7.
Time: 7pm – 8pm

Jazz / Charleston Performance Class every Sunday, with start March 7.
Time: 8pm – 9pm

The Lindy Hop Performance Class caters to Intermediate students and up. For this class you need to be comfortable with all the basic steps (6 count, 8 count, jig-walk, Charleston) and be able to dance with ease at a medium to fast tempo.

The Jazz / Charleston Performance Class caters to Intermediate dancers but not necessarily with Lindy Hop experience. We welcome any one with a dance background!

The purpose of these two performance classes is to give you a goal with your training, to refine your dance and to learn new skills. Nothing matches the thrill of a live performance. With the discipline and practice, you will be able to test your abilities as a dancer, not only will you develop new skills but you will leave more inspired than when you started.

To Perform or not to perform? if that is the question…You are very welcome to join these classes without having to perform. You can join us for any of the months these classes will be held, March, April or May. Nevertheless, if your goal IS to perform we encourage you to join all three months. The plan is to do at least one performance at Cat’s Corner in the end of May and there might be more opportunities for those who like. For questions email: catrine@hotshotcat.com
